Hiil-Bilaang Empowering Women Association implements integrated programs designed to protect women and girls, strengthen their economic and social empowerment, promote gender equality, and increase women's participation in peacebuilding and decision-making processes. The Association's programs focus on prevention and response to violence against women and girls, women's leadership, livelihoods and economic empowerment, human rights awareness, peace and social cohesion, and community mobilization. Key Program Areas 1. Protection and Prevention of Gender-Based Violence Raising awareness about violence against women and girls. Supporting prevention and community protection mechanisms. Promoting safe referral pathways and access to appropriate services. Engaging communities in preventing harmful practices and violence. Strengthening awareness of women's and girls' rights. 2. Women's Economic Empowerment Supporting women with livelihood and income-generating opportunities. Providing entrepreneurship and vocational skills training. Promoting women's access to savings, financial literacy, and markets. Strengthening women's capacity to establish and manage small businesses. 3. Women's Leadership and Participation Promoting women's participation in community decision-making. Developing women's leadership and advocacy skills. Supporting women's involvement in peacebuilding and local governance. Encouraging women's meaningful participation in political and public affairs. 4. Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion Supporting women to participate in peace and reconciliation initiatives. Promoting dialogue between communities. Overall Program Objective The overall objective of Hiil-Bilaang Empowering Women Association is: To empower women and girls in Southwest State of Somalia by strengthening their protection, rights, economic opportunities, leadership, and meaningful participation in peacebuilding, decision-making, and sustainable community development. 4. Specific Objectives The Association's programs aim to: Reduce violence against women and girls through prevention, awareness, community engagement, and strengthened protection mechanisms. Increase women's economic empowerment by improving access to livelihoods, entrepreneurship, vocational skills, financial literacy, and income-generating opportunities. Promote women's leadership and decision-making at household, community, institutional, and local governance levels. Strengthen women's participation in peacebuilding and conflict prevention, recognizing women as important actors in peace, security, and social cohesion. Promote and protect the human rights of women and girls through awareness, advocacy, community mobilization, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders. Challenge harmful social norms and discriminatory practices that limit women's rights, dignity, safety, and participation in society. Improve access to support and referral services for women and girls affected by violence, discrimination, or other protection concerns. Strengthen the capacity of women-led and community-based groups to advocate for women's rights and participate effectively in local development. Promote gender equality and social inclusion by engaging men, boys, community leaders, youth, and other stakeholders as partners in positive change. Contribute to sustainable community development by ensuring that women and girls are actively involved in social, economic, peace, and development initiatives. 5.
